Drammen is set to host the latest leg of the International Ski Federation (FIS) Cross-Country World Cup tomorrow as Norway’s Maiken Caspersen Falla looks to increase her advantage in the women’s sprint standings.

Falla won this race on home snow last year and doing so again would extend her already comfortable lead over Sweden's Stina Nilsson.

The 26-year-old arrives in Drammen in fine form after taking the women's sprint crown at the FIS Nordic Ski World Championships in Lahti last week.

She also added the team sprint and the 4x5 kilometres relay titles to her haul in the Finnish city.

Fall currently sits in first on 512 points with Nilsson 142 points behind on 370.

Heidi Weng, the current overall World Cup leader on 1,651, lies third in the sprint standings on 273.

The men's sprint World Cup standings are much tighter with a mere 47 points separating the top five competitors.

Federico Pellegrino of Italy, the newly crowned world sprint champion, is the current leader on 309.

Johannes Hoesflot Klaebo of Norway follows in second place, 20 points behind, on 289.

Another Norwegian, Finn Haagen Krogh, completes the top three with 277 while his compatriot Sindre Bjoernestad in fourth 12 points back.

Russia's Sergey Ustiugov then completes the top five on 262.

Norway's Martin Johnsrud Sundby still leads the men’s overall standings on 1,448 but sits in a disappointing 35th place in the sprint standings.

Action is due to be completed tomorrow with qualification runs in both events preceding the finals.
