Norway’s four-time Paralympic champion Sarah Louise Rung concluded the opening World Para Swimming World Series event in style as she recorded two victories in Copenhagen today.

The 27-year-old SB4 competitor, who won two gold medals at last year's Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, topped the podium in the women’s 50 metres breaststroke mixed classification event with a total of 965 points.

Sweden’s Maja Reichard, who competes in SB11, was second, while Germany’s SB5 swimmer Verena Schott did enough for third.

Rung then picked up her second win of the day, and third of the meet, as she reigned supreme in the women's 200m individual medley, which was another mixed classification race.

The Norwegian claimed 994 points to beat American star Jessica Long, a multiple Paralympic champion in the SM8 class, with Hungary’s SM10 competitor Bianka Pap rounding off the podium.

"I feel great, it’s good to back in the pool and compete again," Rung said.

"It’s not my best races but I’m happy with my times.

"Now I can use these times and these races to evaluate where I stand and continue working from there."
