A day after becoming the first British woman to win a World Short Track Speed Skating Championships title, Elise Christie added a further two crowns to her collection by claiming the 1,000 metres and overall gold medals in Rotterdam.

Christie, who had eight World Championships medals to her name before the event at the Ahoy Rotterdam, powered to victory in the 1,000m as she clocked 1min 30.818sec.

The 26-year-old Scot finished in front of Canada's Marianne St Gelais and Suzanne Schulting of The Netherlands, who took silver and bronze respectively.

Her performance left her within touching distance of the overall classification title and she wrapped it up with bronze in the 3,000m.

Christie crossed the line behind South Korean duo Kim Ji-yoo and gold medallist Shim Suk-hee, who won in 5:12.382, to top the podium for the third time in the Dutch city.

St Gelais was second overall, with Shim securing third spot.

It was a similar story for South Korea's Seo Yi-ra, who matched the achievements of Christie with the 1,000m and overall double.

Seo, winner of two bronze medals yesterday, took gold in the 1,000m in a time of 1:25.550 as he finished in front of Hungary's Shaoang Liu.

Charles Hamelin of Canada came through to seal third place.

The South Korean skater ended the men's event at the summit of the overall leaderboard in front of Dutchman Sjinkie Knegt and Samuel Girard of Canada.

Knegt reigned supreme in the 3,000m race as he crossed the line in 4:47.344, denying Seo another gold medal.

Russian Victor An rounded off the podium with bronze.

China won the women's 3,000m relay in 4:14.058, with Hungary narrowly behind in second, while Japan claimed bronze.

There was more Dutch delight in the men's relay, held over 5,000m, as they finished in front of China and Hungary.
