Sydney’s Manly Beach is all geared up for latest leg of the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) Beach Volleyball World Tour, despite the poor weather.

Conditions in the Australian city have not been ideal in the build-up as rainfall and strong winds has hampered preparations for the competition.

Organisers have still managed to get the courts ready in time for the World Tour stage with action due to start tomorrow.

Timings for the opening fixtures have been shifted around in an attempt to make the most of the weekend, with the weather reports suggesting conditions are not going to greatly improve.

The first ties will be held two hours earlier than originally planned, beginning at 8am local time.

It will be the first time a FIVB World Tour event has been hosted at the iconic beach since 1990 with female duos from across the globe heading to Sydney.

In total, 24 teams will feature over the weekend with the finals scheduled to take place on Sunday (March 19).

Top seeds for the tournament are home country favourites Louise Bawden and Nicole Laird.

When another Australian venue, Shepparton, hosted the World Tour earlier this month, Canadians Julie Gordon and Camille Saxton came out on top, beating Kim Behrens and Anni Schumacher of Germany in the final.

Both pairs will be back in action at Manly and will be seeded fourth and sixth respectively.
