The second leg of the 2017 International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Cup is set to begin in the Mexican city of Acapulco tomorrow.

The Club de Caza, Tiro y Pesca de Acapulco will welcome 206 shotgun shooters, representing 33 National Olympic Committees, for five shotgun events.

Action is due to begin tomorrow with the women's trap event before the men's equivalent takes centre stage on Monday (March 20).

Simone D’Ambrosio claimed gold in the men’s trap final in the opening World Cup leg in New Delhi while Penny Smith of Australia won the women's crown.

Tuesday (March 21) will act as a rest day before the men's double trap event will be contested on Wednesday (March 22).

James Willett was the victor in the men’s double trap event last time out.

Action in Acapulco will then draw to a close next weekend with the women's skeet event on Saturday (March 25) before the men's skeet tournament draws the competition to a close on Sunday (March 26).

European champion Riccardo Filippelli of Italy fired his way to gold at the season opening event in the Indian capital, after hitting 57 out of 60 possible targets in the men's skeet final.

It will be the fourth World Cup stage held in Acapulco in the last eight years, after previous events in 2010, 2013 and 2015.

The remaining stages of the 2017 ISSF World Cup Series will take place in Larnaka in Cyprus, the German city of Munich and Gabala in Azerbaijan, with athletes of the three shooting disciplines attempting to reach the World Cup Final in New Delhi in October.
