A final stop on the International Ski Federation Snowboard Cross World Cup season is due to begin tomorrow in the Swiss resort of Veysonnaz.

It will mark a last opportunity for boarders to gain World Cup points in pursuit of the overall season titles.

Czech Republic's Eva Samkova leads the way in the women's standings with 4370.00 points.

her chances have been made easier by an injury suffered by second placed Australian rival Belle Brockhoff.

She has been sidelined from action due to an anterior cruciate ligament  injury sustained during a training run at last week's World Championships in Sierra Nevada.

Michela Moioli of Italy, a winner in Veysonnaz in 2015 and 2016, lies in third place on 3890.00 points.

A tighter battle appears on the cards on the corresponding men's event as Omar Visintin holds the thinnest of leads with his haul of 3,470 points.

France's reigning world and Olympic champion Pierre Vaultier lies just 20 points behind.

He will be hoping to build on the momentum of victory in his last two outings.

Alessandro Haemmerle of Austria lies in third place on 3,14.60 points.

Qualification is scheduled to take place tomorrow before finals over the weekend.

The first ever team World Cup events will also culminate at the meeting.

France lies 300 points clear on United States with their total of 1,800 in the women's event.

Italy's men have also accrued 1,800 points, enough for a 580 point lead over Spain.

Male and female big air World Cup action is also due to begin tomorrow in the Norwegian resort of Myrkdalen-Voss.
