Austria and Italy won the respective men's and women's team events as action at the International Ski Federation (FIS) Snowboard Cross World Cup final in Veysonnaz in Switzerland came to an end today.

Markus Schairer and Alessandro Haemmerle won the men's big final for Austria with the United States' Jonathan Cheever and Mick Dierdorff second and Canada's Christopher Robanske and Kevin Hill third.

In the women's big final, Italy's Raffaella Brutto and Michela Moioli held off nearest challengers Nelly Moenne Loccoz and Chloe Trespeuch of France.

Canada's Carle Brenneman and Tess Critchlow rounded out the podium.

Italy topped the men's World Cup standings with 2,090 points, followed by Austria with 2,000 and the US with 1,760.

The women’s equivalent was headed by France on 2,600 points with Italy second on 2,400 and the US third on 1,820.
