Britain's Alfie Hewett claimed the second International Tennis Federation (ITF) 1 Series men's singles title of his career before also going on to win the men's doubles crown at the Cajun Classic in Baton Rouge.

In the singles, Hewett clashed with Stefan Olsson of Sweden for the first time since beating him in the men's quarter-finals at the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games in September.

The two top seeds contested a nervy final but it was Hewett, the world number six, who clinched a 7-5, 6-4 victory.

There would be further success for Hewett as he partnered with Maikel Scheffers of The Netherlands in the men's doubles final.

The duo took the opening set against Olsson and South Africa's Evans Maripa 6-1, and were then gifted the title when Olsson was forced to retire during the second set.

In the women's singles, Marjolein Buis of The Netherlands defeated her compatriot Aniek van Koot, the tournament's top seed, to secure the title.

Buis and Van Koot met in Baton Rouge for the fourth time since 2010, with the latter winning their three previous meetings, including the 2010 and 2013 finals.

However, Buis managed to get the better of her rival this time, claiming a 6-2, 6-4 victory for her first win over her fellow Dutchwoman since 2015.

Buis' victory also brought her a second consecutive tour singles title after the 29-year-old's Bolton Indoor victory in February.

Despite facing each other in the singles competition, Buis and Van Koot then came together to win the women's doubles title.

The Dutch duo claimed a 6-1, 6-3 victory Lucy Shuker of Britain and Dana Mathewson of the United States.

David Wagner of the US claimed his 12th Cajun Classic quad singles title yesterday but suffered a disappointing end to the tournament.

Playing alongside his compatriot Nick Taylor, he was part of the losing pair in today's quad doubles final.

The tournament's second seeds, British duo Antony Cotterill and Andy Lapthorne, took the title 6-2, 2-6, 10-7.

Cotterill and Lapthorne's victory was their second consecutive win over the three-time Paralympic gold medallists.

The British duo also won at last year's Wheelchair Doubles Masters final in Mission Viejo.
