India and Chile are both through to the final of the Hockey World League (HWL) women's round two event in West Vancouver following semi-final victories today.

As a result of their wins, both countries have also qualified for round three of the International Hockey Federation (FIH) competition.

India defeated Belarus 4-0 while Chile beat South American rivals Uruguay 2-1 to move into tomorrow's final at Ambleside Rutledge Field in the Canadian city.

Against the run of play, India took the lead as Kaur Gurjit's low flick beat Belarus keeper Maryna Navitskaya.

In the 20th minute India were awarded a penalty stroke and captain Rani converted for the second.

In the second period, Rani scored her third of the tournament to give India an unassailable 3-0 lead.

Belarus had a host of chances from penalty corners, including shots from Ryta Batura and Yuliya Micheichyk, but Indian goalkeeper Savita was unbeatable.

India completed the rout with a fourth from Gurjit, who flicked home her second of the game.

In the second semi-final, Chile took an early lead following a penalty corner, won by Denise Krimerman who was playing in her 100th match.

From the resulting move, Chilean captain Camila Caram's initial sweep shot was blocked but the rebound fell to Sofia Walbaum who put her side 1-0 up in the 13th minute.

Neither side could add to the scoreboard until the final quarter, when a penalty corner by Uruguay's Carolina Mutilva was deflected into the net at the near post by Viana Ache to level the match.

Chile regained the lead in the 56th minute, however, after Krimerman lashed home a loose ball after a defensive error.

Trinidad and Tobago have finished in seventh place following an 8-0 defeat to Canada today.

The hosts will now meet Mexico tomorrow in a fifth place play-off.
