Egypt and Morocco dominated at the Karate1-Premier League ©WKF

Hosts Morocco claimed four gold medals on a successful final day of competition at the Karate1-Premier League leg in Rabat today.

Three of the four victories came in kata event as Mohammed Elhanni claimed the individual men's title along male and female team victories.

Najlae Karchali also won in the women's under-61 kilograms kumite category.

Elhanni was awarded victory over team-mates Bilal Benkacem and Adnan El Hakimi in a Morocco 1-2-3, with Ali Sofuoglu of Turkey also taking a share of the bronze.

Kharjali beat Asian Games bronze medallist Yin Xiaoyan of China in the final.

Hasnaoui Boutheina of Tunisia shared bronze with another home karateka in Sadini Btissam.

The host nation beat Turkey in a women's team kata event in which only two teams participated.

Their male counterparts overcame Algeria while Turkey and another Moroccan team shared bronze.

Egypt enjoyed a superb day with five individual kumite wins.

Radwa Sayed beat Turkey's Serap Ozcelik in the under-50kg event as Lucia Kovacikova of Slovakia and Sevil Bas of Turkey shared bronze.

Aya Shaaban then won an all-Egyptian final against Yassmin Attiya at under-55kg.

Italy's Sara Cardin and Wen-Tzu Yun of Taiwan shared the two third place spots.

In the men's events, Salama Malek beat Alharbi Abdullah of Saudi Arabia at under-60kg as Turkey's Aykut Kaya and Morocco's Takzima Aymane shared bronze.

Ali Elsawy beat Turkey's Omer Kemaloglu at under-67kg.

Bronze medals in this event went to Raul Cuerva Mora Raul of Spain and Ayoub Zakaria of Morocco.

Performance of the day though arguably came courtesy of Ahmed Elasfar in the over-84kg heavyweight event.

He beat two-time world champion Enes Erkan of Turkey in the final as Morocco's Achraf Ouchen shared bronze with another Turk in Alparslan Yamanoglu.

Other winners today included Azeri duo Rafael Aghayev and Mamayev Aykhan.

Aghayev beat Saudi Arabia's Majed Alkhalifah at under-75kg as Morocco's Ahmed Hammi shared bronze with Erman Eltemur of Turkey.

Aykhan beat another Turk in Gunduz Gokhan as Egyptian duo Mohamed El Kotby and Ahmed Elmasry each took bronze.

Italy's Viviana Bottaro beat Raquel Roy Rubio of Spain in the women's kata final.

Dilara Bozan of Turkey shared bronze with Italy's Terryana D'onofrio.
