As many will have expected, Chinese competitors have dominated the campaign with 29 out of 30 golds on offer so far going to them.

It was more of the same at the Windsor International Aquatic and Training Centre today, starting with Ren Qian and Si Yajie scoring 336.66 points in the women’s 10 metre synchronised.

This was enough for gold, with Malaysian duo Nur Dhabitah Binti Sabri and Pandelela Pamg finishing 37.86 behind in second while Great Britain’s Tonia Couch and Lois Toulson were third with 298.62.

Yang Hao and Chen Aisen added the next podium topping performance for China as they scored 477.84 overall in the men’s 10m synchronised event.

Sascha Klein and Patrick Hausding of Germany claimed silver with a total of 430.68 and Russian pair Aleksandr Bondar and Viktor Minibaev came third a further 8.52 behind.

The trend of Chinese success was stopped temporarily though as Cao Yuan and Xie Siyi, who have won the first three men’s 3m synchronised events of the season, had to settle for third place.

Russia’s Evgeni Kuznetsov and Illia Zakharov pulled off a surprise win with 422.88, coming ahead of Mexico’s Jahir Ocampo Marroquin and Rommel Pacheco Marrufo.

However, proceedings ended with a third Chinese gold with Chang Yani and Shi Tingmao scoring 310.80 in the women’s 3m synchronised contest.

Canadians Jennifer Abel and Melissa Citrini-Beaulieu gave the home crowd something to enjoy with their silver in the event with the podium rounded off by Australia’s Esther Qin and Anabelle Smith.

Competition in Windsor is due to continue tomorrow before finishing on Sunday (April 23).
