Afrodite Zegers and Anneloes van Veen produced a stand-out display at the Sailing World Cup in Hyères as the Dutch pair won both women's 470 races on the second day of competition.

A brief delay due to the wind was unable to effect the duo, with the Miami World Cup winners dominating the fleet today.

Their pair of victories saw them rise above Linda Fahrni and Maja Siegenthaler into first place with six points, while their Swiss rivals are second on a total of eight.

"We had good boat speed in the first race and from there we just tried to defend the lead and stay in front of the fleet which we did well," said Van Veen, who missed out on an Olympic medal with Zegers after ending fourth at Rio 2016.

"In the second race, we had a really good start from the pin and got the lead straight from that.

"We just played the shifts then."

Greece's Panagiotis Mantis and Pavlos Kagialis top the men's 470 standings, with the Rio 2016 bronze medallists earning a victory and third place finish to move on to five points.

Australia's Rio 2016 silver medallists Mat Belcher and Will Ryan are second, two points behind their rivals.

Olympic champions Martine Grael and Kahena Kunze of Brazil remain at the head of the women's 49erFX leaderboard on 11 points after six races.

Charlotte Dobson and Saskia Tidey closed to within six points after today's three races, with the British duo earning two wins and a fifth place.

Britain have also made a good start in the men’s 49er event as Dylan Fletcher-Scott and Stu Bithell top the standings with 16 points from six races.

France are dominating kiteboarding competition as Axel Mazella and Nicolas Parlier have immaculate records after 12 races, with the pair having accrued 10 points each in their separate fleets.

Pavlos Kontides of Cyprus leads the men's laser class with two points, with Britain's Nick Thompson second with five.

The women's laser radial fleet sees Finland's Tuula Tenkanen hold a two point advantage over Belgium's Evi Van Acker, with only one race having been possible today due to wind.

Switzerland's Mateo Sanz Lanz tops the men's RS:X standings by one point from Israel's Shahar Zubari.

Noga Geller of Israel also holds a slender one point lead over Zofia Noceti-Klepacka of Poland in the women’s event.

Britain's Ben Cornish and Dutch sailor Nicholas Heiner are tied for the finn class lead on 10 points, while France's Damien Seguin has a three point advantage in the Paralympic 2.4 metre Norlin OD event.
