The selection includes six men, with Maren Lundby selected as the sole woman.

Daniel Andre Tande, Robert Johansson, Johann Andre Forfang, Anders Fannemel, Andreas Stjernen and Kenneth Gangnes have also been chosen for the men’s team by head coach Alexander Stoeckl.

The athletes will be hoping to impress throughout the World Cup season as the Pyeongchang 2018 Winter Olympics draw closer.

Tande was the star of the men’s team last season, as he secured a third place finish in the overall World Cup.

The Norwegian Ski Association have also shown faith in Gangnes, who missed the entire last season due to a serious knee injury.

"The decision was pretty clear,” said Stoeckl.

“Once again it was nice to see that, with Robert Johansson, a new athlete made it to the team.

“Anders Fannemel is a solid jumper with potential, but he was not able to show it last winter.

“The same applies also for Johann Forfang. Andreas Stjernen made constant progress and established himself in the Top 10 in the World Cup.

“Daniel Andre Tande was our best and it will be interesting to see how he can defend this position now.”

Lundby will hope to continue her success on the women’s World Cup circuit, having won four competitions last season.

Her efforts were enough to end third on the World Cup standings, behind the Japanese pair of Sara Takanashi and Yūki Itō.

The Norwegian Ski Association have also stated that Anniken Mork and Silje Opseth will be able to prove themselves during competitions and at training camps.

Both the men’s and women’s team will participate in joint training camps as Norway prepare for the Winter Olympics.
