Warm-up matches for the International Cricket Council (ICC) Champions Trophy begin tomorrow as preparations for the tournament continue.

Before the competition being staged in England and Wales officially starts on June 1, a series of six friendly One-Day Internationals (ODI) are being played featuring six of the eight teams who will be hoping to win the title.

England and South Africa are not involved in the warm-ups as they are currently in the middle of a ODI series with each other as part of a tour for the latter.

Australia will face Sri Lanka at the Oval in London tomorrow in the first of the warm-ups.

This will be followed up the next day (May 27) with a clash at Edgbaston in Birmingham between Bangladesh and Pakistan.

Defending champions India will play New Zealand on Sunday (May 28) at the Oval before play heads back to Edgbaston on Monday (May 29) for a match between Australia and Pakistan.

The warm-ups will be completed on Tuesday (May 30) with two matches as New Zealand face Sri Lanka at Edgbaston and India play Bangladesh at the Oval.

The first match of the tournament will see hosts England take on Bangladesh at the Oval in Group A.

Action will continue until June 18 when the final is due to take place.

Along with the Oval and Edgbaston, Cardiff’s Sophia Gardens is the other stadium being used for the games.

It was announced today that the BBC have agreed a deal to show highlights of all the matches throughout the tournament.
