Skate Canada paid tribute to coaches, competitors and officials from across the country at their annual Achievement Awards Gala and Banquet. 

The governing body also used the event to celebrate its 130th anniversary since inauguration in 1887. 

Capital city Ottawa was chosen as host to mark another milestone - the 150th anniversary of Canada.

A crowd of more than 350 delegates was present with the awards presented by Olympian and three-time Canadian figure skating champion Josée Chouinard, alongside skating correspondent PJ Kwong. 

The club and recreational coach award of excellence prize went to Stacey Charlton of Sussex Figure Skating Club in New Brunswick.

Lee Barkell of the Toronto Cricket, Skating and Curling Club won the competitive coach/choreographer prize and the officials award of excellence went to Josie Howard of Skate Regina in Saskatchewan.

The event volunteer of excellence award was claimed by Quebec's France Bisson with Kortney Story of Aldergrove in British Colombia earning the Elizabeth Swan Memorial Award.

The Billie Mitchell Award was won by Sally Rehorick of the International Skating Centre of British Columbia. 

A number of other regional awards were also handed out.
