The World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) has announced the draw and official tournament schedule for the 2017 Men's Softball World Championships in Whitehorse, with hosts and defending champions Canada placed in Pool A.

The 15th edition of the men's flagship softball event, scheduled to be held from July 7 to 16, will showcase more than 80 games.

A total of 64 of those will take place in the round-robin over the first week, while the other 16 will be spread across three days of play-off action.

The participating nations in the WBSC Men's Softball Championships represent a global reach that spans across Africa, the Americas, Asia, Europe and Oceania.

Countries will be divided into two pools to compete in the round-robin, with the top four finishers from each advancing to the double-page play-off round.

The remaining teams will compete in the placement round.

Canada are joined in Pool A by Argentina, Australia, the Dominican Republic, Hong Kong, India, South Africa and the United States.

Pool B includes New Zealand and Venezuela, the respective second and third-place finishers at the last edition of the event in 2015.

It is completed by Botswana, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Great Britain, Indonesia, Japan and Turkey.
