South Africa moved into the last four of the World Rugby Under-20 Championship after scoring 11 tries against Argentina in the final round of pool stage matches in Georgia today.

The Springboks decimated their South American opponents as they scored five tries in the first half at the Avchala Stadium in Tbilisi, and a further six in the second to record an emphatic 72-14 win.

There were nine different scorers for South Africa with Johan Grobbelaar and Gianni Lombard scoring two each.

Manie Libbok, Embrose Papier, Juarno Augustus, Jeanluc Cilliers, Yaw Penxe, Damian Willemse and Francois de Villiers also crossed the whitewash.

A second consecutive victory for the South Africans saw them secure top spot in Pool C after they collected one more bonus point than France.

The French took second place after they recorded a 54-0 win over hosts Georgia, also at the Avchala Stadium.

Ireland's miserable campaign came to an end today as they were once again beaten.

The 2016 runners-up lost 69-3 to New Zealand, who had already secured a semi-final berth, at the AIA Arena in Kutaisiin in Pool B.

Scotland defeated Italy 17-16, also in Kutaisi.

Wales recorded their first victory of the tournament as they beat Samoa 54-20 at the Avchala Stadium in Pool A.

This evening's fixture saw reigning champions England defeat Australia 20-19 with a penalty in the dying stages to finish top of Pool A and move into the last four. 

Full back Max Malins converted in the 78th minute for three points which secured a vital win for England at the Avchala Stadium.

The fourth semi-final place, given to the best second place team, went to France.

They will play New Zealand on June 13 while England will take on South Africa on the same day.
