Rio 2016 individual gold medallist Chang Hye-jin, Choi Misun and Ki Bo Bae were in commanding form as they thrashed China in their semi-final.

The South Korean trio made light work of Zhang Dan, Li Wang and Cao Hui with a 6-0 victory to banish the demons of their disappointing early exit at the season opener in Shanghai.

Chinese Taipei, whose team is comprised of Tan Ya-Ting, Peng Chia-Mao and Le Chien-Ying, proved too strong for Alejandra Valencia, Aida Roman and Mariana Avitia of Mexico as they earned a comfortable 5-1 win.

Mexico and China will compete for bronze.

"Shanghai was disappointing for the Korean team, so we tried really hard to do better here," said South Korea's Ki.

Chinese Taipei will have the chance to take home both the team recurve titles on offer in Salt Lake City, which hosted the 2002 Winter Olympic Games, as their men's side also reached the final.

The team of Wei Chun-Heng, Peng Shih-Cheng and Deng Yu-Cheng had to come through a nervy semi-final with Mexico as they eventually prevailed in a shoot-off.

The trio managed to earn a 5-4 triumph over Juan Rene Serrano, Luis Alvarez and Ernesto Boardman to set up a meeting with Russia in the gold medal match.

Russia, represented by Arsalan Baldanov, Artem Makhnenko and Vitalii Popov, booked their place in the tournament's showpiece encounter with a 5-1 win over Malaysia.

"I was very excited and enjoyed getting into a shoot-off,” said Wei. 

“We haven’t been very consistent lately, so we’ve been trying out different combinations and see what works best.”
