The Czech Republic’s Vit Prindis will be aiming to secure a third consecutive win when the International Canoe Federation (ICF) Canoe Slalom World Cup leg in Markleeberg in Germany begins tomorrow.

Prindis is the only athlete to have won gold in both men's K1 World Cup events so far this season in Prague and Augsburg respectively.

As a result he sits at the top of the overall standings on a maximum 120 points.

Czech team-mate Jiri Prskavec has two podium finishes to his name and is in second on 105, with Germany’s Sebastian Schubert third on 94.

Ricarda Funk’s gold in Augsburg has propelled her to the top of the women’s K1 standings.

The German also finished third in Prague, which gives her a total of 110 points.

Great Britain's consistent Mallory Franklin sits in second on 92 points, courtesy of two fourth place finishes.

Slovakia's Jana Dukatova is third on 91 points.

Franklin’s versatility is highlighted by the clear lead she has established in the women’s C1.

Her consecutive second place finishes have given her 110 points, well ahead of Spain’s Klara Olazabal on 86 and Germany’s Lena Stoecklin on 81.

In the men’s C1 Germany's Sideris Tasiadis and Slovakia’s Matej Benus share the lead, after trading places at the opening World Cup events.

Tasiadis finished ahead of Benus in Prague before the roles were reversed in Augsburg, giving both paddlers 115 points.

Markkleeberg paddler Franz Anton is third on 92 and will be looking to make up ground on his home course this weekend.

Racing in Germany is set to begin tomorrow and conclude on Sunday (July 2).
