Swedish duo Anton Dahlberg and Fredrik Bergstrom lost then regained the lead on a thrilling penultimate day of 470 World Championship racing at the Nautical Club of Thessaloniki.

The pair held the lead after a fourth place finish in race ninth.

But a disappointing 18th in race 10, in comparison to a victory by Australian rivals Mat Belcher and Will Ryan, saw the lead changed hands.

However, it proved short-lived as the Swedes recovered superbly to win the race as the Australians placed fourth.

This handed Dahlberg and Bergstrom the slenderest of one point leads heading into tomorrow's medal race.

David Bargehr and Lukas Mahr lie 24 points back in third.

Polish duo Agnieszka Skrzypulec and Irmina Mrozek remain in the overall lead in the corresponding women's event.

This came despite a discarded 19th place in race nine before they finished third and fourth in the next two.

They now lie 16th place clear of Great Britain's Hannah Mills and Eilidh McIntyre.

Tina Mrak and Veronika Macarol of Slovenia remain third a further six points back.

Both medal races are scheduled for tomorrow.
