Iran's Poya Dad Marz and Keramat Abdevali both secured gold medals at the United World Wrestling Junior World Championships in Finnish city Tampere today.

On a busy day of Greco-Roman action at the Tampere Exhibition and Sports Center, Asian junior champion Dad Marz won his country's first title by coming out on top in the final of the 50 kilograms event.

He comfortably defeated Cevion Jordan Severado of the United States, a cadet Pan American bronze medal winner last year, 6-0 in the final.

The bronze medals were awarded to Uzbekistan's Ilkhom Bakhromov and Kensuke Shimizu of Japan.

Abdevali then doubled Iran's tally for the day when he struck gold at 60kg.

The Iranian defeated former cadet world champion Oleksandr Hrushyn of Ukraine 7-5 in the gold medal final.

Hassan Ahmed Mohamed of Egypt and Russia's Magomed Nazirovitch Magomedov won bronze medals.

There was some success for the US today as Kamal Bey was victorious in the 74kg competition.

The American defeated Kyrgyzstan's Akzhol Makhmudov 16-11 in the final.

Sajan Sajan of India claimed one bronze medal and Nasir Hasanov of Azerbaijan secured the other.

Action concluded today with the 96kg category.

Ukraine's Vladen Kozliuk won the final, defeating Russia's Artur Sargsian on criteria following a 4-4 draw.

Finland's Arvi Martin Savolainen secured one bronze medal and Germany's Jan Zirn the other.

Competition is due to conclude in Tampere tomorrow with the Greco-Roman 55kg, 66kg, 84kg and 120kg categories.
