International Korfball Federation (IKF) secretary general Graham Crafter has conducted a two-day coaching course in New Taipei City.

It followed an invitation from the Chinese Taipei Korfball Association.

More than 20 candidates participated in the Level B course to gain expertise in a sport growing in popularity in Taiwan.

As well as a senior administrator, Crafter is also a former elite referee for the IKF.

He then paid a three-day visit to Hong Kong to chair ongoing workshops for referees officiating at the second IKF Asia Under-19 and Under-16 Korfball4 Championships taking place there.

The main focus at both events was on the differing rules across korfball, beach korfball and korfball4 events.

The latter event retains the format, but consists of just four players on each team and is held on a smaller pitch.

Chinese Taipei won a surprise silver medal in the korfball competition at the World Games in Wrocław last month.

They stunned Belgium in the semi-finals before losing to The Netherlands in the final.
