Ravindra Jadeja has lost his place on top of the International Cricket Council's Test Player rankings in the all-rounder category.

The Indian cricketer has been pushed down a place by Bangladesh's Shakib Al Hassan in the latest set of rankings.

Jadeja's fall came after he was forced to miss the third Test match in India’s series away in Sri Lanka.

He was serving a one-match suspension for the game in Kandy after picking up six demerit points inside a 24-month period.

The slow left-arm orthodox spinner has managed to stay on top of the bowling rankings though in a leaderboard which saw none of the top 10 change.

In the batting rankings, there were no changes in the top two spots with Australian captain Steve Smith first and England skipper Joe Root second.

Kane Williamson, another national team captain, has moved up one place to third, with the New Zealander going above Cheteshwar Pujara of India.

Following their 3-0 series win in Sri Lanka, India has increased their lead at the summit of the team rankings by two points over South Africa, who have remained in second place.

England, who beat South Africa 3-1 at home in a recent Test series, are third.
