Japan’s Tomomasa Hasegawa completed the medal positions, as he managed a total of 14.591.

Verniaiev would have to settle for second place again in the vault with the Dominican Republic's Audrys Nin Reyes beating him to gold.

Reyes topped the podium with a score of 14.783, with Verniaiev and Romania's Andrei-Vasile Muntean scoring 14.733 and 14.600 to claim silver and bronze.

A superb rings performance saw Armenia's Artur Tovmasyan crowned Universiade champion, with the judges giving him a score of 15.025.

He would be the only gymnast to achieve a score over 15.000, with Turkey's Ibrahim Colak taking the silver medal on 14.958.

Verniaiev picked up his third and final medal of the day, as he won bronze on a total of 14.800.

The Ukrainian did not contest the parallel bars, the discipline he claimed his Olympic gold in last year, but was present to cheer on his team-mate Petro Pakniuk.

Pakniuk would finish sandwiched between two Japanese gymnasts and was forced to settle for silver.

The top three were all awarded an identical score for execution, which meant their routine's difficulty decided the outcome.

Shogo Nonomura clinched the gold with a score of 15.600, with Pakniuk and Wataru Tanigawa rounding off the medal positions on 15.500 and 15.200.

The men's horizontal bar title was claimed by Axel Augis of France as he managed a score of 14.166.

Russia's Vladislav Poliashov finished narrowly behind on 14.100 to take silver with Tanigawa collecting another bronze on 13.866.

Another Russian, Kirill Prokopev, won the men's floor, scoring 14.800 to edge South Korea's Kim Han-sol and his total of 14.700.

Tanigawa, again, was the bronze medallist with 14.658.

The four women's apparatus finals also saw different winners crowned in each, with all-round champion Larisa-Andreea Ioardache winning the floor title.

The Romanian's total of 13.800 proved enough to hold off Japan's Asuka Teramoto and Russia's Liliia Akhaimova, who managed 13.533 and 13.766 respectively. 

Russia's Daria Spiridonova won the uneven bars by achieving a total of 14.233, with Germany's Bui Kim Ngan second on 14.066.

The podium was completed by Canada's Ellie Black, as she scored 13.966.

The triple Toronto 2015 Pan American Games gold medallist would find herself on top of the podium in the beam competition, with her total of 14.133 topping the standings.

Japan's Natsumi Sasada took silver on 13.833, while Iordache finished as the bronze medallist with 13.666.

A second Canadian gymnastics gold of the day was earned by Brittany Rogers, who landed two strong vaults to score 14.250.

Russia's Lililia Akhaimova and Maria Paseka claimed the minor medals with efforts of 13.983 and 13.916.
